Community Activities

Counselor and Photographer - Mid-Atlantic Burn Camp, Annually, 1992 to present. Provided images for the web page and produced slide show for the camp's closing campfire.

President's Award, Patuxent Publishing (July 2003) - Company's highest award; nominated by 15 people in 3 different editorial departments for going above and beyond in my position as Photo Assignment Editor.
Catholic Press Association (1996) - First Place for photograph of Pope John Paul II and Cardinal Keeler exchanging the Sign of Peace during Camden Yards Service; ran in the Catholic Review in Baltimore, and chosen as the cover for the book commemorating the Pope's visit.
Suburban Newspaper Association (1986 and 1987) - First Place in Sports Picture series.
Maryland Delaware DC Press Association - First and Second Place Awards in Feature Picture Story, Illustration and Sports categories.
National Press Photographers Association, Monthly Clips-Region 3 - Second and ThirdPlace finishes in the categories of Sports, Features, and Feature Picture Story.
Maryland State Teachers Association School Bell Award (1987) - A story of young Matthew Teal on his first day of school for The Howard County Times.
