In a three part project, I followed Hector Vento, a former member of the Baltimore City Police Dept.'s Quick Response Unit, as he went through the Maryland State Police Academy. Part 1 was the first day of the academy, part 2 was field training of feloney stops and weapons training; and, the last part was as a Trooper out in the field, getting the polish put on by an experienced Trooper who acted as a mentor. This is a small selection of the images used in three cover stories in the Owings Mills Times, a Patuxent Publishing Co. paper.
